Adding Supercharger - what else will I need?

I should be with around 6-8 lbs of boost I should in those neck of the woods numbers wise if not more right? :D

I don't think so Tim. :D

My WAG with what I recall of your combo (we been talking about it a couple days now so, I'm sure I don't remember everything), I was thinking you'd break 400 at the flywheel. Even that is a high estimate IMO. That's over 100 HP on 8 lbs. Hmmm... I might be guessing high.

I do. I'm probably 80 to 100 HP above your target and the KB makes that power from just off idle.

There's no spin-up like a centri.

I'm already at 280 to the wheels lol. The car made 291 in the past and the only thing I changed next over the years was LT's, 3.73 vs 3.55 and a more free flowing catback pypes vs flowmasters and a re tune. So that 280 means fwhp is at around 350 ish right now....... :D

I will add that if going with the larger pump that the hanger mentioned by @AeroCoupe will make a big difference.

Cutting down on the cavitation caused by the return fuel is a big factor when things get hot.
also going to run a power pipe that will add more power too.

he didn't mention to upgrade the hanger but he did say use the 3/8 for the return and have him add an 8AN for feed

My prediction with what you just said and 8lbs is 360 RWHP. Of course, you can get more out of that SC. I've seen the V1 make well over 600 WHP (over unkonwn combo).

I gotta ask him what he thinks I'll make round about. The total if I let him install everything and get it tuned including parts and labor will be around 11 ish and so for and if 360 is all, I'm not sure it's worth it. If My engine wasn't at 190 k miles I'd definitley be shooting for more as in more psi as well.

Going to watch that fox video of SC install to get an idea and for all that I have to do, see which things might give me a headache to which I might rather let someone else deal with lol. So I might attempt to do it all completely I'll just have to see.

You're doing kinda how I did it.

I bought the KB kit and put it on the OEM 86 block. That thing held up like a champ but it was getting tired and I wanted more.

DART stroker. Now I need more air. Flowzilla/Blowzilla for the KB (which worked out really well BTW. I have a rarer 2.2L blower that you could only get with the initial kit. The Flowzilla/Blowzilla kit comes with a 2.1L.

After that... removal of more inlet restrictions and I [still] have even more inlet restriction reduction sitting in some boxes. O_o And a new pulley combo and some other stuff. I'll have to do the math again but I know I'm right at the top of that blower's range.

I never set out for the peak numbers. It was always meant to be a Stoplight Warrior.

Oh... and my HP WAG is for a Mustang Dyno.

On a Dynojet, it could be a little more.
Ok just spoke with him. So the plan is with a 3.47 pulley should be at 8-10 psi and also with my TF 170's I had them milled down to not have to use an O ring head gasket so it should be around 58 cc and therefore lowering the compression. He said I should see around a minimum of 150 increase in HP. The power pipe will add as well or maybe that's factored in to the 150

The blower whine depends on the blower. If you have the Vortech v3 'heritage' version, i believe that makes more of a whistle/whine noise. If not, it will be more a 'gear whine'. I have a Paxton Novi 1220SL and its defintely more a gear whine that the whistle whine some centrifugal s/c's make. The KB/Eaton (like a Terminator) has more of that high pitch whine, which is different. So for yours, depending on the model it will either be a whistle whine or a gear whine.

Here is the one at TRE:

I'd have to listen to a you tube video of the gear whine and see if I'd like it lol

aint seeing any so far. If you find one, attach a video of the noise plz

Don't quote me, but i believe that head unit will have more of a gear whine over the classic supercharger whistle. Probably closer to what mine sounds like.

If you go through my Progress Thread, somewhere in the middle during my supercharger install i believe i have a 'first start' video that will show what mine sounds like. There's like 60+ pages though. I'll try to find it and link it here but if you have time to skim through my thread you could find it too.

Edit: Found it

Here's my list if that the installer gave me to look of pricing for if I put one on my 190k mile 94 Cobra with oem trans:

Vortech V3 self contained
sfi rated dampner
60 lb injectors
Ignition box ( not sure if MSD)
90 maf
power pipe
bigger SC pulley 3.47
340 pump w/ wire upgrade
plugs
aeromotive fp reg
guages

Not sure if you know this but a "bigger" 3.47" pulley is lowering boost. Assuming you have a standard 6.87" Vortech crank pulley, the 3.33" blower pulley would he considered the 10lb kit. It's what Vortech sells as the HO kit and they estimate 8-10psi max. Real world with that combo i saw about 8psi with a powerpipe. When I went to an smaller 3.12" I saw 10 or just over sometimes.

Vortech claims the 8-10lb kit to bring a stock 225 hp foxbody to 331hp. So they are estimating around 10hp per # of boost.

By going up to a 3.47 you're likely see 6 psi maybe 7psi. If you want to use 10hp per psi go ahead and add 60-70hp to your base

This is all just random ballparking of course. But I dont see any reason to go with a 340lph pump here. The fuel pump calculators really get you in the ball park. Do an honest HP estimate. Add 10-20% for a safety margin. Enter that in the fuel pump calculator. If you're under the suggested size I'd go for that.

@from6to8 you should create your own Progress Thread. Just realized this thread was started by someone else.

You have questions going in a few different threads (blower/injectors)... having your own thread will help keep all your questions and stuff in one place.
