I've definitely thought about doing a temporary blacking out of the A pillar and windshield surround across the top to see if I like the look or not. Unfortunately, due to buying a new set of Sparco Torino 2 seats, I won't be getting anything painted this year.

I've seen the smoothline hard tops in person and all I can say is YUCK! They are absolutely horrible looking. Its like they put the small 'vert back window in a fiberglass hardtop and it is simply ugly as hell!

I don't even want to think about Carlisle at this point. I worked on getting my seats installed all night tonight. I don't think I'll have time to finish my rear seat delete, my stereo is only half hooked up, my roll bar needs re-installed, I haven't polished my wheels yet, I have to wash and wax the car, the carpet needs cleaned, I need to add a little tranny fluid to the TKO, and I need to put on Troy's old stock side skirts and rear bumper (they are in much better condition than mine.) I have a list that is a full page long and I haven't been able to cross anything off yet. Its going to be a late night week all week until Carlisle just like last year.


How are you coming along?

Currently, I think smoothline is the only company still in business. There was a company that made nicer looking ones a few years back, but they are out of business. Mine is one of 499 factory hardtops that were only available on 1995 cobras, and all were black. I bought mine used for a hair under $1000 but it needs repainted and the upholstery needs re-glued in a few spots.

LOL, yeah, I figured you would be down to the wire again. If you made it last year, you'll make it this year for sure. Just remember, is you inspection about due to run out, it was this time last year that you had it done.

As for me, I kept it simple this year, no big mods or changes so I'm basically ready to go. Only things I changed from last year is I "prettied" up my fuel lines and hid some more wiring, and was able to delete one more vac line. Only thing not done is the Snow Kit, but its going in the fender so you wouldn't have seen it anyway and I don't need it to drive out there.

The car feels snappy as hell, but I haven't made a WOT run in yet as I still have last years gas in it and I want to run it out before I beat on it. The throttle response as has been mentioned is dramatically more noticeable.

Someone recently posted on here that the ramp rate of the arc that the cable travels through on the TB is greater than that on the 94-95's. If this is true, then it would explain a lot of the added responsiveness. Its definitely made the car harder to drive, the touchy throttle and aluminum flywheel make for a hard start from a stop without looking like its the first time I'd ever driven the car.

You get used to it but in the mean time enjoy the looks from people like you don't know how to drive your car.
