I wish I could quit my job and just stay home and work on this thing for 80-100 hours a week until it was done. Not happening. I’ve got just about all the paint and body supplies I need and just got the windshield removed.
I’d love recommendations on the proper solvent to get the windshield adhesive off the car. Maybe just acetone and a plastic scraper? Heatgun?
I’m ready to clean, pull dents, sand and seal I guess.
Thanks Noobz, it really is. There are a few door dings here and there but other than that and a spot in the engine bay that looks like the aftermath of a leaking battery, I think it’ll clean up really nice.
The plan for the immediate future is to get corrosion in the bay sanded off, some minor dent pulling/mudding as needed and prep/sanding for sealer/primer/base/clear.
Once the garage is dust free, I’ll begin engine assembly and transmission rebuild. Still shooting for roadworthy by July 2026.
