Nope, but out of town this weekend and next weekend then Turkey day so probably nothing til December.

Nothing to see here. Out of town last weekend, leaving tomorrow, be back Sunday. At some point the Falcon will be losing part of the shock towers and the K member will get fitted. It just may be over Christmas (we are off 2 weeks).

I am looking for a set of wheels. Once I get the K Member in, I can get it back on the ground. They need to fit SN95 brakes. When I didn't have a car, I saw ALL manner of wheels at bargain prices. Now, for the life of me, I can't find anything decent. Looking for something suitable for drag racing. Rears in the 15x8 - 15x10 range (10 may be a stretch) and 15 x 4 or 17 x4 up front, as long as it clears the brakes.

I found these...the price is right...$300 for all 4 plus the 2 front runners, but I'm not sure these are worthy of HeHateMe. Or vice versa. I'd almost want to run steel wheels with a dog dish.

Sorta my thoughts. At first I thought those don't really go with it, but now looking...round headlights, round tailights, bubble wheels....it's a match made in Hell. But like you said the price is right, and they seem close enough...maybe a 2 hour drive. Of course now that I am interested, they will be gone. FMR...it's a 4 hour drive.

So, today, I had some time to go out and work on HeHateMe. I need to slice and dice the shock towers, but I needed to get the firewall braces off first. They were spot welded and blob welded in place. I'm guessing it's factory, but on the passenger side, there's a hole torched thru where they blobbed some weld on.
I will admit when I pull some dumassedry. I started drilling the spot welds at the firewall from the top....then realized it's 3 layers thick....they are spot welded on the bottom. Being fat and lazy, I didn't really feel like laying down or shoe horning my fat ass under there to center punch and use the spot weld cutters. So I just grabbed both braces when the were free of the shock towers and bent them to the sky. Easy Peasy. Drilled out the spot welded and then bent the firewall lip back in place. I really would love just to leave the paint as is, but I had to grind a lot of it off. I got some cheap ass paint stripper disks from Amazon and they work great. Light touch, they strip paint and rust. Heavy touch, they take off metal like a flap wheel.

Once that was done, I realized the surgery of the shock tower would be a several hour project needing some accuracy and patience. So I decided to put the caster/camber plates on. I made a template out of cardboard and laid it out. I don't think they are exactly symmetrical side to side, but they are within an 1/8th". Just another reason HeHateMe.

More carnage ensued.

Then new parts were removed from their boxes and installed. Next need to get the shock towers out, the k member mocked up, the control arms on and set the wheelbase. Need to find some tires and wheels....maybe the bubbles will be the choice, but that's an 7-8 hour round trip for me...somewhere in NE Alabama. I don't have the free time over the next few weekends. Next up, cut the steering shaft and remove the box.
