Hey whats up! More 2.3 power needed

Got my fuel parts!!! Went with a new set of 35lb injectors, and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator, figure id let the girlfriend have some fun and have her put it all together haha, i had some questions for you guys! What/were dose the hose coming from the lower intake barb go? And what is the fuel pressure regulator look alike on my fuel rail?

Also, how do i set up new fuel lines? Are these removable hoses? Or do i put a new one over them and hose clamp it?

Thanks guys!
The hose from the fitting off the lower intake goes to the factory metal coolant lines that run off your oil filter cooler. Those metal lines will have a nipple for the hose to attach.

This is your Kirban adjustable fuel pressure regulator........

To replace those fuel lines you'll need to remove the 2 spring lock connectors that hold them on. Go pick up this disconnect tool at Autozone........

The little plastic tool slides under the spring thats internal on the spring lock connectors. It expands the spring past the lip thats in there then the fuel line should just pop off. You'll have to try it a few times to get the hang of it but you'll get it. In the above pic you can just see the spring that wraps around inside the connector. The connector is on the fuel dampner which is that round disc looking thing right next to your pressure gauge.

Thanks! Ill go nab that tool and get to practicing, and my bad, i didnt mean the regulator, im trying to figure out what the other cannister is, the one with the fuel line coming from it, is it a return line check valve? Or what? Im stumped amd i want a new pretty one

Stupid me, i could just look up the part number... my bad XD

Hey guys! I havent forgotten about you all or the turbo motor! im on summer break! first year of collage DONE!!!! now i can drop this engine in! after i get me all the sensors and connectors! i used some of the information i learned at school! ( im getting my aircraft maintinence licence! aka A&P licence) I Re-bent my original IHI oil line and make it into a weird hybrid Automotive 45* flare fitting to a 37* AN-4 to a male to female 90* into my new T3 turbo oil inlet. I got the IHI drain addapter from Big R, and managed to reuse my old equipment, waiting on more parts, ya know? trying to get this engine as put together as i can before i drop it in!

I bought a Vam connecter pigtail, Stinger stage 2 boost controller, and a 3" stinger downpipe extension, should be here by monday! i need to buy things like, plugs and sensors, and other emmissions stuff, and need to get new accessory's rather not chance my old ac compressor, or power steering pump. YEAAAA you heard me I want my airconditioning to work!!! im always hering stuff from my dad about how good it worked, but all the R12 leaked out and i need to convert it over to R134a, or.... just fill it with R134a

ALSO!!!!! i have some holes in my block. im assuming for sensors and stuff, but i cant remember what goes in what, i know stupid me, shoulda taken pictures. i did man i did! but the engine was so filthy i couldnt tell what i was seein. I know one of the wholes under the intake is for the catch can, and one is for the dip stick, and some for motor mounts, other than that im stumped!

also, i plan to ditch the oil cooler, so i gotta plug that lower intake hole i think right? if not i beleive my coolent temp switch goes there on my N/A motor

I forgot the very top one is the the intake air temp sensor(applicable to '87-88 Turbo Coupe only).
thanks alot!!!! and the tempeture sending unit, is that going to be this part? i realize i have another coolant tempeture decive, cant tell if its a switch or a sending unit, it came from the top of my intake manifold... to explain my confusion, my na 2.3 thats currently in the car has 3 sensors in the coolant. one on top of the intake, one at the bottom were the oil cooler line goes on a turbo 2.3, and one in the block just below the head gasket.

sensor on far left. center is air charge, and right is nock sensor. im doing an oil cooler delete, so ill put a plug were its coolant line goes

The one in your link looks like it's for the fan. The sensor on the left of your photo is a coolant temperature sensor for the EFI. It goes on the top side of the intake near the cylinder head between runners 2 and 3.

I was mistaken about the one I marked "temperature sending unit;" the 2.3T factory manual says that is for the "temperature switch."

Guys! The day is creeping up! That engine is going in soon! I'm making the final few purchases right now, I have to figure out the PCV system and what needs to be removed from the na motor and carried over to the turbo motor.

Once that's done I could drop it in! I'm planning to have a couple of friends over to help me do it. As far as wiring in the vam and plugging up the coolant holes for the oil cooler that I'm deleting there's not much I have left to do aside from switch over all my accessories.

When I get home I'll send you guys some pictures and ask you some more questions. Got some things that are on the turbo motor that aren't on the na motor and I'm wondering if I could either not use them, or make them work

So, heres the motor so far!
I got....
Spark plugs
A cam seal
An air charge sensor
Thermostat
And timing belt and tensioner all coming in the mail

I plan to swap over some parts from the n/a motor to the turbo motor, ranging from bolts to actual components like the...

throttle body! N/a motor has a vaccum line going to the charcoal canister turbo motor dose not.

Oil pan! Pick n pull punches holes in the pan to drain the oil. I dont trust their rubber plug. Also, I don't think the na wiring harness includes an oil level sensor, figure it's one less thing I have to figure out if i can eliminate it.

Im going to swap the n/a egr pipe over aswell, just because i jacked up the one on my turbo motor,

I also plan to use the n/a harness, im pretty sure i only have to wire up the v.a.m. im going to use the stinger write up, or i think somone posted what to do here aswell.

I need to swap the pcv system from the n/a motor over, i cant find any hoses, or parts (if you find any please send me some links) annnnnd part from that, i have to figure out how to set up my boost controller

If anyone sees anything im missing that i havent mentioned yet, please tell me! I have an la3 ecu and vam harness, and vam, so i dont think im missing anything critical except a way for boost to get into the engine. I wanna put an intercooler from racer walsh in front of my ac condenser.

OK, PCV system first. I referenced this off of mine and my intake is rotated 90* so it may look a little different. The correct PCV valve is Motorcraft EV-127......

Price is a little steep and I don't see why a $5 AutoZone PCV valve wouldn't work!
The formed hose comes out of the filter/vent that attaches to the block.......

roadster2.webp

Then the hose 90's up and your PCV valve goes in there......

roadster1.webp

Another vac hose attaches to the PCV nipple and runs up to a long nipple that protrudes from underneath the top of your upper intake. I can see it in your first pic when I zoom in.

Next up is the boost controller. I'm simply running the factory TC boost controller and this is how mine works.

A - runs from one side of the controller to the turbo scroll.
B - runs from the scoll to the wastegate.
C - runs from the other side of the controller to the inlet tube where fresh air comes in.

Hope this helps.

It dose help! With the pcv system specifically. My turbo set up might be botched... I orderd the wrong trubo from chip the one thats just a turbo, i have the waste gate, and im pretty sure i JUST need to run a vaccume line to the the opening of the scroll... Like line A is on yours. But mines not drilled.... I also have an aftermarket controller to run with mine, i bought it from stinger thinking its more controlable than turning the lil braket on the bypass valve arm

But! Before i dive into turbo stuff i need to get my parts first haha so ill ge those start putting it together then figure it out, i do appreciate the help on figuring out how to run it in the mean time!
