So I just put a new x pipe and flowmaster cat back system on my 347 and now it dies almost every time. I did notice that when I pulled the old exhuast off that the last person who welded it used a 2 inch adapter on the inside of the muffler to the tailpipe and welded it(Dumbass!!) anyways the car is alot faster but now it doesn't want to idle. Before I upgraded the exhuast this was not a problem. It will warm up fine but once it does warm up it wont idle. Any Ideas?

i bet its the o2s

the EEC wont look at o2 readings while warming up, it only looks at the TPS, ECT, IAT to get the engine warmed up, once those sensors give the thumbs up the car goes into closed loop and only looks at the MAF and o2s to maintain 14.7:1 AFR. if yours warms up fine but dies once the idle tries to settle down i would bet its the o2, plus its the only logical thing down there to cause your symptoms.

make sure you plugged them back in before you buy some lol

good luck

:EDIT: seen you posted right before me, just make sure they are plugged in and working, you could also try and reset the EEC by unplugging the battery for like 20 mins and try again.

to see if its and o2 problem, get the car to temp where it wants to die, have a friend jump in the car and keep the car running, while you climb under and CAREFULLY unplug the o2s and note any changes.

but your symptom of the car warming up fine and dying is surely an o2 problem for the reasons i posted above.

See "Surging Idle Checklist for help with all your idle/stall problems. The first two posts contain all the updates to the fixes. I continue to update it as more people post fixes or ask questions.

So I just drove the car about 60 miles and it seems fine. I am waiting to take the car to a dyno to have it tuned. That is the onlt stock piece to my car. The computer has been having trouble with running the car. I am about 6 hours from Denver. Next weekend I am taking it to get tuned.

No but the battery was out for like a month straight. And now there is alot less back pressure. whoever put the last cay back together on the car was an idiot. everything was restricted to two inch right after the mufflers. the car has alot more power now with the new exhuast and there are no more cat on the car as well.
