If 17x9 fit why not 18x9?

Yours fits because you are using an 18x10 with a tire that could fit on an 18x8.5. The tire is probably stretched which lowers the profile even more and takes the corner off the tire giving even more room for movement.
Really no sense in buying a rim that wide to use a tire that narrow, unless of course that's the only width available.

Ricgt, wheel fitment is about more than rim size.
The tire you run, the offset, how low the car is are all variables that affect fitment.

is this the same car that lost a wheel on the freeway??? bringing back some memories.

i used 18x9 front with 255/35/18 tire and 18x10 rear with a 275/35/18... stock 4x4 height
it depends on your drop and tire size you want to go with.. i got these and i got good clearance, i haven't lowered her yet but i think 1.25 should be good.. and i used 94-95 front spindels and 91 ranger axels (2 drivers) and with what i got i dont rub..
