It's only an inch or two. What's the big deal?

Congrats, man! Boost is cool, But big inch carbed engines screaming wfo is definately some sweet music. I ran a windsor in my first fox and it was way worth it!

We started it on Thursday night and took it to the track today! I literally worked yesterday from 8 in the morning till midnight finishing all the wiring, steering, bulkhead etc but got it done. Had to load the car on the trailer at 9 so as not to make my neighbours hate me more than they already do and did an alignment, and an oil change while it was on the trailer! I must be nuts.

I picked the busiest time of the year to go, made 4 passes. With very little tuning, I took it easy on the first pass I coasted to a 12.5 after some serious tire shake. Forgot that drag radials are opposite of slicks they like air pressure.

Bumped them up to 19psi and ran a granny run of 11.0 shifting at 5200. I then launched it a little harder, shifted at 5500 and ran a 10.79 @ 123.

Opened her up a bit more last run and went 10.69 @ 125 with a 1.47 60ft! I think I like the change to radials!

Car has more in it, it's heavier in the front so I need to work on tweaking the suspension and need an anti-roll bar bad, its got a lot more torque off the line. The thing is stiff, I have solid everything but it still wants to twist bad. It barely cracked 5900 through the traps compared to my last motor that would spin to about 6400 so if I keep the revs down it should last. I think it should have a 10-10.30 N/A if I do some more tuning.

Unfortunately no vids or pics, my camera girl decided to race too! I will try to make one more event and hopefully shoot some action.

Thanks for all the comments, I honsetly didn't care what I ran, it was an accomplishment just getting the car done to get it there, and have fun. Which I did.

well I made a few more passes at the track Friday night but it was so damn cold traction was a major issue for me, best I could manage was a 10.8 @ 122. Best was a 1.47 60ft, most were 1.8+.

It was a street car event and most of the fart can cars were peeling the rubber of the track with their one wheel burnouts lol.

Going next weekend, gonna see if I can do any better. Next year I will play around with jetting and gearing and stuff and see how that makes a difference.

LOL, shifting sub 6K and you're running deep 10s. On an NA motor.

Don't miss that 331, do ya?

Haha no I don't Nik. This thing is way more fun to drive. love the torque off the line. I guess it's not too bad, I launch at 4000, shift at 5500 and pass through the traps at 6000. I wonder how much of a difference the super victor would make at the top end??

If I had to guess, you're probably short shifting the thing as it is. Even on a 408, I would have to imagine that those parts want to rev higher than 5500 on the shift. But who knows, that's a lot of cubes to feed, and I'm sure you are starting to get a feel for it anyway. But like I said, you're running solid 10s without even taking it past 6K. That's awesome, because you know you have room to grow and go much faster.

I bet you would gain more from a custom cam than you would an intake manifold swap.
