Got her all cleaned up today for a show I'm going to on Saturday. So I thought I would post a few pics of the engine. I know its not a 5.0, but maybe I can get a few points for cleanliness:D I posted this on 2.3, but thought I would share it with the 5.0 guys too. I can't help much with 5.0 questions, but whenever I can I help with the others. This site rocks!!!:nice:

Sorry no chrome here.

Thank you very much all for the kind words. I hope the judges think so at the car show tomorrow. If it doesn't rain, forecast keeps changing looking bleaker and bleaker every time I look at it.

Yes, I drive it almost every day to work (8 mile round trip) and year-round.

To get it clean: a little cleaner and then some protectant. This time I used NO TOUCH and it turned out nice, but I had to wipe everything down by hand to remove the white residue. Still only about 30 minutes worth of work on the engine. I never let it get real dirty between cleanings that helps
a lot.

Well the show was Top 25 for 1974 and newer and there were just a few less than 25 there so a trophy was a definite. But anyway here are some more pics from the show and my little girl picking up the award. It was a nice wall plaque so they left it in the box to protect it.

well i tried to clean mine and then gave up after 25 mins on just the wiper motor and it still was dirty of hell. i guess this is what you get when you buy a car that was in a barn with stupid cows and sheep and the whole 9 yards for 7 years :notnice: and i think something died in cuz when you let it sit with the top up for a week or so when yoou open the doors it is a blast from the past lol

at least it runs goof :hail2:

what is no touch?

very clean engine though. how does it run?

NO TOUCH was the original tire foam that you just sprayed on and it cleaned/protected. Its not really that good, but I had some and tried it in this application. It was ok. I hadn't bought any for years and I thought I rememebered it working better than this.

My tires I use a tire wet spray applied with an applicator so I don't get any overspray and uniform coverage.

87-90 had 88 hp and 91-93 had 105 hp. Its not much, but its not a slouch for getting from point a to b in a hurry still. The drop in K&N seemed to improve it just a little. More noticable at highway speeds. It don't take much and its going from 60 to 85 passing without any problem.
