sure was . I'd blame it on the machine shop guy not checking everything or maybe polishing the crank to much and not using an oversized bearing

That sucks. When I pulled my motor a few months back, my end play had opened up from .005 to .008 within 10,000 miles. I know .003 isn't a ton, it did put it at the looser side of acceptable.
