Thanks bro ! I thought it would be a cool touch seeing as I have it on the back windowThat intake plaque is big t1tt1es. Really cool.
Got my 66 finished up in August and did a shake down with it. Took it and completed hot rod drag week with the little .30 over 396 that went 12.96 at 104.7 at 4045lbs. Had a blast.
Got the mustang back out last week and cleaned up to have some fun with it. Haven’t touched it since I put motor back together just focused on the Chevy. Got to meet long time member Jeff sias on DW as well.
Belair has a .30 over 396 in it now which by accident has correct casting number for the car
Fresh .063 heads -11.8:1
.591/.595 240/246@.050 110LSA cam
Edelbrock intake
TRW piston , scat rods , gm steel crank
All arp hardware and cometic head gasket
4l80e still column shifted
Circle D 3000 stall

I recall you buying the car must've missed the part about it being your Dad's first car, how cool is that. My Dad's first car was a new 69' Z28,unfortunately long gone.My dads first car - it’s in this thread I found it and bought it back in 2021
Yes sir this was his actual car , so I have been picking away at it. Now it just needs a 496-540 inch big block and vintage air but it drives amazing otherwise. The 4l80e was a game changerI recall you buying the car must've missed the part about it being your Dad's first car, how cool is that. My Dad's first car was a new 69' Z28,unfortunately long gone.
The car is testing me this year for sure. It runs amazing , well ran amazing.
I had a little oil leak from behind the right head ever since it’s back together. Last week I decided to throw another head gasket in effort to get that to stop.
Put the car together fire it up take it for a ride and at 70mph it just shut off like I just shut the key.
For whatever reason the engine builder decided use a stud and nut on the cam side. And the nut is tight but the stud started backing out and the washer has a releif ground in it. The cam
Pin walked out.
So I’m down but never out. Have a bolt coming and all the gaskets. Pulling heads to fix valves and we’ll be right back ! lol

Had a girlfriend with a 80-81 Trans Am whose EX husband had converted ONE of the rear disc brakes to drum... Big surprise to me when I crawled under it.. Lots of stupid fks in this worldI can't believe anyone would do that.

I bet he needed a shorter cam pin and ground the relief in the washer to use the longer one.and the washer has a releif ground in it. The cam
Pin walked out.
I ran into that once when changing a cam to a different manufacture. I just needed to use a shorter pin.
The pin actually fits Perfectly back into the gear as it should and is the right length so I’m not sure what the was the story here. 5 years it’s been like that.
I did get the cam back in time- I replaced the whole setup with the correct arp bolt. The heads are fixed - they needed 4 new valves and were completely gone through. Exhaust side needed to be touched up on all of them anyway which Mike at MCRP handled for me.
Weather and work have been ty to get out and get it together but I do have everything ready to go. Also got an innovators west pointer / sensor combo for the balancer. Eventually I’d like to put a crank trigger on it and the IW double key way balancer so setting that up now.

Also after years of going back and fourth , I finally picked up a Moore race chassis 8.50 cert.
Had the harness bar sloped so the seats will still recline a little bit, the door bars are bent for the arm rests. Will be getting swing outs as well.
Nothing else on the car is really going to change. I just wanted the safety stuff so this car can do drag week, maybe 1-2 events a year and I don’t have to worry about not being safe. I’ve been very lucky thus far.

Just out of curiosity, are you the guy that sold and shipped me an A9L last year? He had a red notch that looked identical to this.
On Facebook marketplace ? I took it out of a customers car that showed up engine half apart for a Holley efi ?Just out of curiosity, are you the guy that sold and shipped me an A9L last year? He had a red notch that looked identical to this.
If so that’s me lol
Coming on here got me slightly inspired again.
Heads are back on with 4 fresh valves + fresh valve job , fresh cometics and the innovators pointer. The pointer also doubles as a crank sensor mount for later on

Maybe way later on.You gonna do coil over plug?
For now -eventually I’d like to get the IW balancer with the 4 magnets and the double key way. Run the crank sensor on its own for better rpm resolution and just use my distributor as a cam sync
