Build Thread My Never Ending 89 Notch Thread

200 miles round trip to my buddies up in Sparta . We have always done the chassis work on my car ourselves since day 1

He’s got a 2jz in a 85 coupe .

We got the anti roll in ! We had to move it around a bit and flip brackets around becaus of my full 3 inch exhaust . We had to remake the links for it to get it parallel but it’s all in

The car drives amazing honestly . Not like an anti roll bar on a drag car where it must be disconnected . This is definitely a street type bar

Yesterday was a great day - if I didn’t over tighten that blower belt that had no more give we’d be looking at an 8 Second slip on a super conservative timing and boost setup for c16 . The belt is similar to an rpm gates where it just has no give and explodes and this did just that right at 1000 feet.

22 psi on the shift 19 on the run ish , only 17.8 degrees of timing .

All this on a 26x8.5 because I had them at my finger tips and needed new tires .

Last pass was botched up they had me too far back in the water and the burnout was a bust . Then I was frazzled I didn’t put my foot on the brake going up on the trans brake becaus aod t brakes react slow it pushed through . So it red lit. Let go of the button it spun . I lifted it rolled forward and I stabbed it off idle at 5 mph . That still netted me 148 out the back and I lost my upper windshield trim .

The fact that this car is that fast isn't really what impresses me, most of my life i've been around guys with fast race cars.
What's impressive is that you drive it around and it's really a street car you drive at the track, not a track car you drive on the street.

I was going to say the same thing.

He puts more miles on his car in a year than I have in the last 10 years, and then he rips off that sort of time slip like it's no big deal...while lifting a full size 17" street tire off the pavement. Holy hell.

I appreciate that bro ! Had to drive it to work last night right after just because

That's awesome man! I don't remember seeing the interior on your car but it doesn't look from the outside like you have a cage, do they not kick you out for going that quick without one?
You just have to pick and choose your days . I ran no time- which the whole rental was , that’s someone else’s maybe ;)

I can't even remember the last time i drove my car and needed the headlights on. Got to be the day i had purchased my Saleen Explorer, which my guess is 2001. Can't imagine how bad fox headlights are compared to newer cars.

Any chance i could get you to put the AC back on the car? Lol.
That would make it the perfect street car.

As for the cage thing, it's kinda weird because some basic electric cars run faster than they times they allowed back in the day and some of the better ones are close to parachute territory. What would they do, require all model S cars to have cages?
