Resolved Nick's '94 Cobra

Either an old Edelbrock Victor EFI (short runner EFI style intake) or a TFS R (not Box R) if I can get my hands on an R lower manifold. They are no longer made, and are different from the Street/Track heat.
Gotcha. I had that intake on the list when I was going to do a 363 or 400, 408, or 427. Now I'll likely do a 331 stroker and probably use an edelbrock performer 2 like what I now have on my 302. I have one more car to build and actually the 302 that's in the 94 Cobra that I just restored, I might do a 331 stroker for it as well. But my son has me on to those scat pack widebodies now and so I might have to pull the trigger lol. If I do then I'll really wait to build the 95. I gotta get more room though so going to do a 30x60 4 bay garage with a 2 post lift.

The Scats are fun, and great daily drivers. I had a 6 speed 2016 Scat Pack Challenger for a hot minute.

I really like the look of the Challenger. I'd gotten a few as rentals here and there while I was travelling. I didn't like how it handled (V8's included) but I never did drive any of their "Sports" versions. Just base V6 and V8s. I'd hope that the SCAT Pack versions handle a bit better?

On your drivetrain setup, since it sounds like you're tearing it all down anyhow, consider a full weight billet steel flywheel since you're going through all the efforts for streetability. It [does] make a difference and your trans might even thank you. :D

I've actually considered that, but only for the ease of starting from a dead stop. My tuner and I have decided to start with an intake swap only, as the cam in my 347 in the Fox had even more overlap, yet he had it driving better than the SN. From there I very well may swap out the flywheel. Baby steps though. Im having to work on my patience and not jumping in too deep unnecessarily.

I've made a few updates, and strapped it on the chassis dyno.

First, some new wheels and tires. The Michelin tires ended up running much narrower than anticipated, so the 285s are moving up to the front 9.5" wheels, and I have 315s on order for the rear 10.5" wheels.

The Super Victor intake with 90° elbow and 90mm throttle body really killed low end torque, and also made low rpm drivability not so great.

I ended up going with a Victor EFI intake and an 80mm Accufab TB. I knew I was trading off that high RPM horsepower, but didn't realize just how much until last Friday on the dyno. I modified a BBK catted H pipe to fit my Mac longtubes, and replaced the now too quiet Magnaflows with Jones Full Boar mufflers. I actually love the sound, and lack of fuel smell from the exhaust.

I have to upload the vid to YouTube, so bear with me. I was expecting 430-450 at the tire based on 567 at the crank (with the old intake setup) on the engine dyno. I was slightly let down only hitting 402. Even more so seeing the power drop off at 6000 RPM, where it was still climbing at 6700 with the old intake setup. Needless to say, E85 and a Vortech are in the cards for next year.

To keep with matching tires, the only size 315 Michelin offers in an 18" diameter is 315/30r18. That ended up looking very short compared to the 285/35r18 on the front wheels. For that reason I kept the 255/35R18 up front with the 315/30r30 in the rear. Hind sight being 20/20, I'd opted for a different brand and gone 265/35r18 front and 315/35r18 rear. I like the rear being just a touch taller. The regular BC Racing coilover springs are very soft, hence the ride height. I just purchased firmer front spring, a pair of MM forward offset A arms, and a Steeda front sway bar. In the rear, I am going to try to find an air bag helper spring kit, as BC does not offer a stiffer spring for the IRS rears.

After the intake swap, my tuner noticed my 20+ year old wideband controller was reading off. I decided to buy new, although I really liked the vent set up. I never ended up liking the gauges under the radio, so I moved them back to the gauge surround. I may just end up with a triple pillar mount, as it's pretty cluttered in it's current configuration.

Lastly, my wife hit a deer a while back and had a rental Toyota Corolla that had a flat bottom steering wheel... After seeing how much it helped getting in and out, I was sold and bought a subtle AZA flat bottom wheel. This is how my interior currently looks.

I'll post more as I revamp the front suspension. I'm also pulling my TKX, as my second gear and syncro need replaced after a fluke clutch cable incident.

Thanks man. Little by little it's getting to where I want it. I'm waiting on a pair of Export tail lights from one of our favorite Stangnetters, and I have a pair of side scoops waiting for paint. Always liked the CDC side scoops. Once the ride height is set a touch lower with the spring rates that support it, it's time for a little Vortech (bolt on self contained V3) and it'll be done. Found a similar 363 combo with a V3 that made 686 hp / 680 tq to the tire. That checks my boxes while being simple and cost effective. Hoping to be at that point early summer 2025.

Man with that kind of horsepower with the blower you're going to need to beef up the suspension what are your plans to do to the suspension?

Plans on the Mustang have stalled a little. A deal came up that I couldn't pass up. Not that I am spending money modding it, but it's not exactly a cheap daily. It'll take me a little longer to set aside funds for the car.

I have stiffer front springs for the coilovers and MM forward offset front arms to install. May not end up with a blower after all. May just put cheap tires on the rear of the car that tricks me into thinking it's faster than it is due to wheel spin.
