Last night we got 1/2" of snow. Today the schools are closed. When i was a boy it could snow 18" and we would have to hop on one foot, with no shoes, uphill both ways to school along a steel spike imbedded dirt trail through the thorn bushes. But we still had to go to school.

Kids these days....nothing to build character.....

No Dave,..Not only in OK. Businesses, and Schools are closed here today because they "predicted" a winter storm. One billionth of an inch hasn't fallen and everything has closed or will be by this afternoon. The grocery stores are devoid of the staples.

And it hasn't snowed AT ALL,...and they don't even know for sure that it will.

So,.....NOT only in Oklahoma....

They cancel school for 1/2? of snow?

This was my drive into the office today. My wife's a teacher and they have class. Expecting 2" or so. No big deal

I was a young kid in Oklahoma (Yukon in the 80's) and I remember we'd get snow and I'd still go to school... I live in DFW now and down here people freak the f%ck out when there's even two snow flakes. That said, it rarely ever actually "snows" here... we get sleet and ice which isn't something you can drive on so everything shuts down.

Im coming up there to FW again tomorrow. Should I bring the truck or the car? Forecast didn't look too bad a couple days ago.

The whole thing here is that the ground is so cold right now that even this little bit sticks on the road.

Bunch of pssies.

Honestly, sometimes when it's cold out, you get the best traction just letting the snow stick to the road.

The issue is when they salt the roads and it starts to melt into that slushy brown mess. That stuff is slick.

It's so much easier to drive in 2-3"+ of white powder, than melting slush/sleet or freezing rain.

Whenever we get 12-24"+ of snow forecasted, they actually have to issue driving bans to force people to stay home, otherwise they will try to go out. Last time we had a blizzard with 18-24" of snow falling, I got bored, hopped in my G35 (AWD) and went to the local dunkin donuts for a coffee. They were open, and there was a line! But yeah, as long as there is no driving ban, i'll hop in the car and run errands just like any other day.

This time of year, we get 1-3" nuisance storms all the time. Nothing you can really do about it so you just gotta go out and drive. They didn't even bother sending the plows/sanders out for this little squall this AM.

With beer? I don't know what arugula is but doesn't sound good with beer.
Arugula is nasty ass tasting lettuce. The wife decided she was gonna make a "yummy dinner". The yummy dinner had that lettuce, that goat cheese and a bunch of other junk that Mikie won't eat.

Give it to Mikie,......"He won't eat it, he hates everything"

They were right. I hate arugula,..and I hate goat cheese.
