My block and aluminum heads are painted black. I absolutely hate it. Can't see any leaks or storage at all. When it gets pulled im strong all that crap and going with metallic gun metal on the block....polish on the heads.

Finally getting more parts, got new pistons, rings, bearings and plugs yesterday. And remanufactured crankshaft today. Hopefully everything goes well and the machine shop has it back to me shortly.

It's the details...regardless of color. For whatever reason fel pro makes the block to timing chain cover gasket hang out like that, for the love of Christ, put the timing chain cover on that gasket, draw a cut line, and cut the excess gasket away.

Lest I notice it..

I like grey, but I’ve grown to like some more unorthodox colors on ford blocks....like pontiac metallic blue . However, the cast grey is one of my Classic favorites.

There has been a change in plans, the block had already been bored out .040 over. So decided to go ahead with .060 over, not ideal but I will take my chances.

Now being that this engine is essentially on its last leg, I have decided to stick with the old heads and spend as little as possible (now that I bought new pistons).

Not sure what your running but I have a set of refurbished e7 heads that I am doing nothing with if you want them, just pay shipping.

So unless there is a cheaper way to ship, I can't do it. Fedex ground would be about $100 a head. It figures that it would have to be the other side of the country.
