Couple times a month during the summer, mostly just for fun on Wednesday nights but we like to have some fun at the good guys car show in Columbus.

Time to move my attention to the rear of the car. Upper and lower torque box reinforcements and brakes, turbocoupe brakes to be exact. I’m gonna fab up the caliper mounts and see if I can save $200. I’ll mock everything up in MDF board and go from there.

Cool, I'll be following closely on the 4 lug rear disc.
Planning on doing the same thing sometime over the winter.

Pretty straight forward. Once I get the mount done I can send you a template if you want or make more if it’s not a pain in the butt lol

I did the same , been collecting parts for a while now and just about have them all.
I just got a set of brackets from a member on Corral for $45, they are modified turbo coupe brackets
with a spacer.
Thanks for the offer on the template , I could send you pics of the brackets I have for reference if you want.

That’s a good deal. I’ve looked off and on for some and then I looked at the north racecar mounts and was thinking I could easily make those.

When I saw these I couldn’t help but see how simple they are. The offset will be tough but I think I can just double up the material in that area and use longer caliper bolts. I can also mill off some material to center the caliper if needed

Here's the brackets, I believe they mount on the back side of the axle flange and have a double spacer between flange and bracket.
Not positive of there mounting position but seems simple enough to figure out.

Also got started on the brakes. Very rough mock up using Masonite. I will trim and fine tune it as I know where it’s gonna sit on the flange and then transfer to 1/4” plate

I’m trying to figure out what plugs to run. Can’t seem to find a temperature chart. What plugs are you running?

Would you go 1 or 2 steps colder?
