Progress Thread She’s a runner

Ok I got everything on now. One idler I need to move out about an 1/8” but nothing tried to walk off the pulleys. I also went with a contour fan and since I already had a derale pwm controller I used it but will eventually use the ms. Still need to make a mount for the coolant tank and remount the breather tank. I also noticed when blipping the throttle the rpm would dip way low 450 ish stumble then recover. Not sure what did that would cause that but I’ll see how it act tomorrow or this weekend, it was 90°+ and high humidity so not sure if that played a part. What do you think @a91what ? Anything I should look at or tweak.

Plot the idle pwm% during the stumble also note the timing. Does this happen with a small throttle blip only, does doing a more exaggerated throttle movement cause the idle valve to open further?
Thanks. I’ll check it out and datalog as well.
it was definitely with smaller blips. I’ll see what it does with a bigger blip.

Just about buttoned up. I ended up getting a little bigger belt since the other one was just big enough and they had a fleet runner so now I’m like the cool kids Lol. So I needed a way to mount my coolant tank and I don’t have an automatic sooooo... hack or crafty? Drilled and tapped plugs and mounted the tank to that. Still need to investigate the stumble when throttle is blipped. I did notice the timing dip to 15 ish then adaptive idle timing pops it to 20 but it seems to take its time doing so. When it’s blipped to 3k+ it doesn’t seem to drop rpm as low. I’ll mess with it this weekend and get a datalog

that seems like it may be the dashpot adder not doing its job, once the idle settles in does the pwm% go up from the original commanded? With the pulley change it may have altered the load on the engine just enough to upset the idle settings. post the datalog for me so I can take a look and see what it is doing. Now that you have the belt setup done I wonder if it will make a difference in the boost level?

I will get a datalog this weekend. Definitely a load difference since it’s not swinging the fan around as well. It crossed my mind that the load difference might be the issue but thought nah it couldn’t be that much different.

Why does he have to go to the “digital tuning“ forums to learn how to turn his stuff?

Why does his stuff have to turn?....What if he want to keep his stuff straight?

You don’t make no sense.
