Progress Thread She’s a runner

Chat I had with ford performance...
He also said there isn’t a stronger block... I’ll take that with a grain of salt.

Internal or external balance. So here’s why the question. This block comes with unfinished bores. They are ~3.998 so it seems almost like a waste to go .30 over. Eagle makes one (342) forged rotating assembly that’s standard bore but internally balanced. I’m not worried about getting a flywheel and balancer but back many years ago (20) ish I remember some crazy looking cranks after balancing, think Swiss cheese. Anyone see this issue nowadays?

You never said that you bought one,..is this “ yours” or is it a pic of “ theirs”
It’s all mine! I’m really glad I chose this block. Gonna work on deburring it today ford did all the easy stuff but still some sharp flash here and there.
I wonder if the few cranks I saw back in the day were due to a bad job balancing. For some reason that stuck in my head.

IIRC, The only one i ever had that was full of Mallory metal was due to the mega lightweight piston/ titanium rod combo that I had in the R blocked 363 in this car.

Parts parts parts.
rotating assembly showed up today! I gotta say, eagle needs some help in the packaging department. Just loose in a box for something this heavy and expensive. Hopefully it’s straight lol

Question for the peanut gallery. Piston to wall clearance. Mahle has a min. .0046 and a max of .0054 they recommend +.0001-.0003 for boosted applications. I’m thinking .0050 mahle specifically says you’re better off with more than you need. What do you guys think? This block goes off to Michael’s racing engines next week.
