Progress Thread Tannerc91gt’s Build(s) Thread

Hah quiter.... easier yes, but now the possibilities are limited.....although you would never tune most of the available tables.
Still waiting for my ECU back from DIY.
First half-ass fire up was January 11th. Wasted too much time and jeopardized the rest of my parts on a system that didn't work. Whether it was my doing or a hardware/software issue is still yet to be determined. I would consider myself a pretty intelligent guy with a decent understanding of fuel injection and I chased my tail for countless hours.
Being challenging for the sake of being challenging isnt appealing to me.
I'm glad to see so many guys here have had good luck with other versions of MS. I've got no interest in bashing the product.
I'm curious what in what way I'm limiting myself with this setup though?

With that said, I do appreciate all the help you offered and everything you sent me to try. We'll see what they have to say hopefully this week.

You know what tanner? You know what you want on that shifter and computer. Do what you want brother (not that i had to tell you that:D). You got a cool hang on what you're doing. Just show us stupid people what you're doing, it helps me to make future decisions. I want to see what you do in the 60' times.
We'll see what the fate of the shifter mount ends up being. I'm not in love with the look myself, it's just ergonomically awesome. It may get modified.
If I work hard I could be driving this thing first week of march.

We are expecting a child in the fall so my priorities have kind of shifted.

Don't get me wrong the Holley system is definitely a good system, however where the MS stuff shines is the ability to do anything with it. I'm not sure about the particular Holley system you purchased but the MS3 is capable of ABS, Traction control, and transmission control. The modules (IO modules with seperate firmware) can be Daisy chained infinitely each one capable of supporting any number of functions. With enough gumption you could run an entire car (all functions buttons and radio controls included) through MS based hardware/software.

It's just not easy..... but darnit it's cool. All in all the Holley system will work out better for you because you are already familiar with it.

Can't wait for a burnout vid:burnout:

That's awesome man.
I'd hope mine will be "finished" but my brain is a million places on my days off and my wife gave me a lengthy list of stuff that needs done around the house before then so the car has really taken an unfortunate back seat.

Might be a little scary now.. But brother I promise... Having a kid will be one of the Proudest moments in your life.. Above all the cars you had/will have, won't give you as great a feeling as watching your kid crawl/walk/run for the first time.. First words, first solid foods etc.. Putting the HotRod on the back burner won't seem so bad the first time you hear your kiddo say Daddy lol :-)

I'm mostly just screwing around, I honestly couldn't be more excited. I've got a lot to do no doubt, but priority wise I could care less about the car for now.
Well,....I'll Just add this.

Me an #1,...walking along a beach in Cape Cod 22 years ago...One of my most favorites pictures in my life..
The best times are yet to come Tanner......Just wait.

ordered some pre-bent rear brake lines so I could check that off my list hopefully next weekend.

Hooked up the Holley wideband, battery connections and injector harness. My main harness was supposed to show up today but no dice.

Since I had ordered from American muscle I went ahead and bought the Cobra Grille insert I've been looking at. Really on the fence about using it though.

I love the blank GT face, especially with the outlaw valance. Butttttttttt, with as much as I want to street drive this car I'm pretty sure I'll need to cut a hole in the lower for the intercooler and the radiator/turbos would be happier with an opening so I'm not sure I've got much choice.

Yesterday my cobra grille, brake lines, and various odds and ends came in from summit.

I was also sent my main harness for the Holley finally. Holley sent it to the shop I ordered it from instead of to me. So the shop overnighted it to me. Which was awesome.

Except when I got it yesterday I found it was a 58x harness. Not the 24x that's supposed to come with my kit. Which is as useful as not having one at all was.

Back to waiting again.

On a good note, I sold the Bosch injectors and adapters I had and replaced them with Holley injectors. They came as described.
