I am trying to swap my Cobra intake for a Systemax. I cant lift the lower intake manifold up, like at all. I have removed all the bolts and stud so it's just RTV holding it down. I used a pry bar once on an old lower and broke the front of the intake at a thermostat housing so I dont want to do that again. Any suggestions?

Heat it up with a hair dryer. Id say propane torch, but gasoline might be close. Dont wanna do all that.

Are the edges of the valve covers holding it down? Sounds crazy I know. Never had one not come off before.

I've never had one come off either. In fact, my last one lifted up by hand once I removed the last bolt. I also use minimal RTV. No leaks on that one either.

I'd probably put a prybat under the therm neck and lightly apply pressure while whacking it with a dead blow.
