I appreciate all the input and advice. I’m kind of stuck onto the path I had decided on, as I’ve installed the carb, hooked to my electric fuel pump and Aeromotive pressure regulator, blew gas out of the vents and subsequently bought a Holley fuel pressure regulator with a return so I can use it with a carb. Even with the adjustment all the way out the Aeromotive unit couldn’t regulate the pressure low enough for the Holley Carb.
The problem with going back to a stock ignition configuration I think I stated above. No module, no wiring, no nothing, so I’d be starting from scratch to recreate the system; and it is a system. It relies on the sum of its parts to function. A 30+ YO system would be an issue for me.
I’ve got everything plumbed in and am just lacking the spark part of the equation. I thought about going injected, but that would involve even more snipe hunting with no guarantee of success. I’ve got cut wires all over the car. It had a wire tuck, Viper alarm, FITrch Injection and a swap to a 98 Cobra dash.
Even though I’m fairly comfortable with what I’ve done so far, I can quickly exceed my limits of ability. At this point I want it to run reliably so I can DD it. I’m not happy spending $300 to get here, but at least the wifey is cool with it. She doesn’t want me to drive “her Corvette”, which BTW, was mine until she glommed it
Thanks again
Jim
