Very cool. Are you going to run it speed density or maf?

If you need any help let me know. Most of these systems work the same

Holley is sd only, no provision for maf.

Please make note of any problem areas, I'll be using the same basic system on mine eventually.

No provision for maf for almost 2k!!!!

Fug dat

For 1300 you could have had a system that would do anything.. but that doesn't matter now.

The system should do baro correction at least, if it does set the control algorithm to
%baro it works better On anything besides a turbo setup, due to changing back pressures....

If it doesn't at least do that.....

Not looking to run it maf even if it did have the provision . Hopefully the next few weeks I'll get it installed . Many guys run this setup from 13 second streeters to 4 sec small tire cars . I am confident in it being able to do everything I need it to and then some . I will definitley keep you guys posted as I install it and get the car running with it .

Also wanted to replace my stock harness for a long time

With our cars getting older, this is always a plus. When considering aftermarket ecu's, I have worried about putting a $1000 computer on a 25 year old harness.

The real question is why would you want a maf setup in the first place? Sure it's great for a factory efi setup you're trying to mod without tuning, but it adds more complexity, another intake restriction, and trying to put one in front of a 4150Tb is not really a thing. And like has been mentioned, the Holley has been run all over the spectrum from basic cruisers, off roaders, pro stock, I think even NASCAR is using it in a class or too.

MAF is easier to tune, once you have the curve set its a simple trim table to adjust.
A 90mm maf is really not a restriction on most* intakes. Doesn't matter what you put it in front of, most of us run a cai anyway.
It was merely a posed question, I don't run my setup maf but I do use the MAF input for another sensor. Some people prefer to run both, it makes for excellent control of trim values.
I run megasquirt because it's open-source meaning I can run almost anything I want with it. Any sensor and input type or module. I can use whatever firmware I want as long as it's compatible and I'm not hindered by proprietary tuning software.

I can also crack mine open and solder in any circuit I want or modify an existing one. The possibilities are endless.

Oh and it costs significantly less, I built mine for less than 500$ (although mine does plug into the stock harness, the option for a new harness is available)

*I will say that these are not for everyone, there is something to be said about pulling something out of a box and just using it.

@84Ttop has done a few installs at his shop already and no issues . From everything I've read and diagrams I've looked at .

I need to move some wires around on the msd . Only 2 actually .

Get rid of my fan controller and wire that to command the ground side of the relay to turn those on as the Holley controls it .

Pin the ford iac in so I don't have use the gm one .

Swap the rest of the sensors .

And ground the fuel pump relay because the eec sends a ground and the Holley sends a 12 signal so I just need to wire that into the control side of the relay . The rest all seems plug and play .

@MikeH686 runs it as well kris tuned his car on it and he's been flying around with it until he hurt the motor . I was in the car though and it drove like stock and MOVED

So today we embarked on a journey. Between trimming brackets and not having the right couplers etc we finally got it all together . Step up ratio from the s trim to the ysi is the same . So it spinning the same rpm managed to make 627hp at the tire . Made 581 before with super high inlet temps . This is all on straight pump gas with super conservative timing . Don't mind the worm clamp and mis matched crap going on . I dropped the ball on having the bigger clamps and couplers but we managed to make it work

Next time we revisit this we'll be going from a 6.7 lower to a 8 inch lower .

don't forget the holley harness uses the gm iat and ect sensor connectors too. not really a "plugnplay" deal, but at least it's all new.

Yeah it came with all that I think I mentioned swapping the sensors out.

I come from a background of re pinning and building harnesses in city buses so the diagrams and moving some wires around don't really bother me too much.

Damn I ain't been on in a week. I think my outputs I used were the ford iac (which sucks you have to sacrafice an output for it) trans brake and for my boost control. Thanks for the shoutout about my car moving but alas I have yet to lift the wheels ...

LMAO on the lifting the wheels comment . I have a heavy street car what can I say .

Yeah I saw I have to sacrifice one but that's alright I'm not worried about it . Don't need a boost controller or any of that . Maybe a trans brake eventually to trigger the 2 step if I ever go auto .
