Build Thread My Never Ending 89 Notch Thread

Got the tank dropped tonight. Gonna send pump back to aeromotive again so they can fix it. Also Mocked up battery box in the trunk and trimmed the trunk carpet. Once i get that all finished up next will be to trim console for shifter and then work on Cleaning up the wiring.

Spoke to engine builder. Definitely got bad gas. Melted the moly right off of the rings number 2 being the worst and destroyed the pistons. Gonna go to 4.130 and put 8 pistons in it. Also last engine builder never double key wayed the crank like i asked so he was taking care of that same day we spoke on the phone .

Oh also it isnt a 363 . LOL Its a big bore 347 with a short stroke. Hence why that motor likes to spin up so easy. Either way not crying over spilt milk just moving forward.

Wut? How does that happen?

When you trust someone through a reccomendation and the person sort of just does what they want. I’m not crying over spilt milk at This point . New builder is local enough for me to physically get to him . His attention to detail is awesome too . So I don’t think we’ll have any issue with this sort of stuff again

That makes a big difference. I always used Buck racing to do all of mine. He was rude, short tempered and a genius. And he was a thirty minute drive. Having contact is always a key.

Dropped off my moroso pan now that the fitting is welded in it for the blower , new pickup and paid the machine shop some money so we can get going . He was ordering the pistons today from diamond . Full custom deals with better wrist pins at 4.130 bore . Clevite h series bearings . File fit rings . All the fun stuff

Made some progress . Built a hold down out of some scrap aluminum . Tested it and then pulled the box out of the trunk .

Got all my parts together for powder coat . Pulled sensors out of lower intake , seals and gaskets of timing cover etc .
