Build Thread My Never Ending 89 Notch Thread

So last nights progress . Made all the sensor connections at the Holley . Also made and additional 12v sensor out and ground sensor out from the Holley I’d I ever needed to add anything else . I have no reason for a 5v but if I ever do I’ll make one too . So now I have the trans brake input for the 2 step , trans temp sensor wired , drive shaft speed sensor pig tail ready to go .

The premise is eventually when I do the Holley dash or a race pak I can use the DSS to get a speedo . Also use it to calculate converter slip , oh and maybe some traction control .

Also made the harness for the meth kit . Right as I ran out of tape . Lol

So the meth controller didn’t fit in the little info center at the right corner of the bezel that goes around the cluster it was hitting and I just wasn’t happy with it. So I came up with this tonight .

The cuts aren’t perfect but I did the best I could . It’s down low so it should look pretty slick

Well I got some more done . All wiring in the car is done . Interior is 3/4 re installed . Have to hole saw the console tomorrow for my usb charging port by the arm rest . Also on the pass side of the console where I’m going to put a pass through for the ecu usb connection.

Over drive button mounted .
Got the shifter cable hooked up . Box on the shifter

Wires done for the usb charger .

Shifter box on and just laid the upper part of the console in place to get an idea .

Eventually I need to re spray my quarter plastics and some other stuff . That can be a project for later

this is such a simple thing, but im digging that bracket to keep the usb plugged in.

oh, and im starting to wish i had mounted my hp (and tcu) in that same spot
Hey , motion raceworks sells that bracket to stop the common issue of breaking the usb . There is a guy who literally was swinging the ecu by it that sold me on it . Just peace of mind

Took a little break from wiring tonight . Installed the lokar billet dipstick for the trans.

Put the trans back up and the stifflers mount back on and secured it .

Cleaned the fans , Radiatior, and polished up the end tanks + the reservior and installed it as well as the lower hose and 2 heater hoses .

I just wanna thank you.....

Thank you for posting that pic of your trans dipstick tube, cause now I know that that leakin btch that I have ( Lokar) has a solution that they are offering. Mine uses two O rings, instead of that grommet looking thing...when will you use it, and when will you be filling the trans?

Hopefully end of April ! Lol

I’ve used the other style on the glides in the race cars . This is for an AOD so I’m wondering if that’s why they use the grommet on this ? Not sure

Split the Holley harness open today . Moved the fuel pressure sensor to reach the reg . Extended the manifold air temp harness , extended the oil pressure sensor to reach the log . Moved the iac harness around . Cut the Chrysler plug off and re pinned for gm iac. ( was using a ford before )
