Used a claybar on the Cobra

When I would drag the back of my hand across the paint on the hood and deck lid it was seriously rough seriously rough...

I hand waxed the car twice with turtle wax and once with zymol and still very rough.

So today I used the claybar

So amazing how it just removes the crap on the paint. You can literally feel the paint getting smoother. It does not take hardly any effort and I did the whole car in about 30 minutes... The clay was getting seriously dirty and I had to keep folding it and working it to get a clean side.

Then I waxed it one more time with turtle wax color cure for red.

It looks amazing I will update the thread with pics tomorrow as I am waiting until I have some daylight to take them.

No, I have been washing cars since I was 14 years old. My first job was washing cars at a Ford dealership...

I just really enjoyed using the claybar on the Terminator... It made a huge difference. I do not think anyone has ever even waxed it before I did.

tsb recall

Their is a recall on the paint for all 03-04 cobra's , it is due to rail dust that gets inbeded in the paint from delivery. I have the recall # in my files if anyone needs it I will look it up and gladly post it.

Ford Motor Co. has released a private labeled material to be used for iron particle/acid rain service repair. Ferrous metal particles (hot iron dust) are generated by manufacturing facilities,rail shipments,etc. Moisture and heat combine with particles to create a chemical reaction. This reaction creates an acid, causing the iron to corrode and etch into the paint surface.

This is just a couple of statements taken from the actual tsb. I should be able to post the whole article tomorrow evening. When my cobra was taken in for this issue it took 3 day's , and I stopped by each day and they had hired a private co. to due this recall. When completed it was smooth as glass, not the fine sandpaper like feeling I was used to.:SNSign:
