I use tinted clear using mixing black. I do light to medium smoke mostly. Few coats of tinted clear then straight clear to lock it down once Im happy with the smoke. Regardless of whether Im smoking or leaving then clear, I clear coat my lights. No need to polish them down the road that way.

Are those from a different build? Or did you paint the one with the broken/cracked base?

I know I told you yes to the smoked look, but let's make sure it's a light smoke, not too dark please.

I know you can get anything from Chinese fleabay, but I’m sure that’s not where he gets them, so I’m curious too.
My truck has factory black emblems, but no way are they fitting on these Foxbodies.

Blue Oval is VA. They are D.C repops of the original emblem so it has the pins on the back and everything

I should have never clicked on "What's new".... hats off to you. I've prepped and painted my share of cars / trucks over the years. When people gripe about the cost of a DECENT paint job, I might point them to this thread and tell them "This is a 12 on a scale of 1-10. If you were paying him only $10 an hour labor, you'd have over $5K just in labor, not counting sandpaper, primer, etc etc."

The time for products to shrink and cure is another issue entirely. "The paint shop has had my car for 6 months, they primed it and it's just sitting in the corner of their shop!"

I say that Youtube and the popularity of car restoration / build shows over the years ruined reality for people who have never done or been around this kind of work. If there was a TV show with only some edits and it documented an actual restoration / prep / body work and paint? It would 5 seasons long before the car ever got straight and in primer ready for color LMAO.
