Lol that's really the only place I do them . That was from the track 2 weeks ago. On the road hazing the tire at 45-60mph from a roll is more fun.

Not to clog up the thread, but FWIW, I used to have a 10 rib setup and here was still plenty of room for the contour fans. Not sure how deep the cogs are in comparison to 10 rib.

Thanks for the info.

Changed the seal around the fans today . Looks factory now . Mid to high 80s here . Driving hasn't gone over 184 . Idle 186 . Heat soaked it too 206 and turned the fans back on . Pulled down to 200 and just maintained it . This made me happy . My black magic would always just slowly creep and never maintain after heat soak . As soon as I started moving it started to come down a bit .

So far I'm super happy with the fans . Next thing is too dilute the coolant a bit . Gonna change the mix to 70:30 maybe even 80:20 .

Do you think putting vacuum line over the coiled up thermostat wire would hurt anything? I have same unit and want to protect it. Or maybe it doesn't need it... I have it routed under radiator inside the frame so its covered too.

I found the contour fans on Summit, looked up the model, specs were not on the Dorman site. Emailed their tech support got this answer.

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/rnb-620-104

Tom,

Here are the specs on the fan

Dorman 620-104

The Left side fan is 1007 cfm

The right is 1114cfm

They both draw 5.8amp each

dont see a need to wrap the sending unit wires. Very interesting cfm #'s as historically i;ve read the dual contour fan pulls over 3000cfm..

So have I . I think it all depends on what type of restriction your testing them through too

Is the amperage correct? 5.8 draw? Have you put a multimeter to it since you put that big leash 75 relay on it?

I have future upgrades planned and my current BM may not handle it. I hope to hear more on your testing with these fans. I replied back to Dorman Support email asking if those numbers were indeed correct and what type of restrictions they were using during testing. This was his response:

Tom,

Those are the correct specs for this fan. Those specs are obtained using an anemometer with no restriction.

I don't no if they are gonna be that low amperage wise I can't see it being true . If it is I'd consider switching back to my BM . Through a restriction like a rad core the cfm number becomes less . Many guys use them including the Dorman replacements like I have and don't have an issue on high hp cars which wouldn't make sense if they really pull that little air . I forgot to bring my amp clamp home I'm gonna do it tomorrow . But I did do this .

Man I love that overflow. I thought about getting that but you lose your sensor. What are your thoughts on the sensor? I guess you have a water temp reading and you would just want to check your fluid levels manually... Looks vs electronics....

@stang89bidges . The bench has snoopy with the just the two of us . Wood stock is flying a Chevy flag . ( father was a Chevy guy .) the rest of he bench has a big ford script. My father was big into charlie brown hence am i . So all that stuff is sentimental to me and reminds me of him. I lost him when i was 8 . He was 32. Juvenile diabetic.

And his song to me when I was kid was the will smith remake of " just the two of us "
