I’m very happy from what I see . I’m sure it will perform just as well as it looks esp with all that air being crammed into itGuess his son really picked up the trade from him. That lower looks good !!!
890I bet those weren’t cheap, huh Jeff?
I’ll need a good set of those someday.
Yeah this one is beginning to hurt big time. I’m in no rush anymore . Spent way more then i wantedYup, that's half my rebuild budget.... this is why I can never have nice things.
What is the difference in Pistons say dish, flat top etc? If one is going to run 11r 190s is their a certain type of piston I would need if I ever decided to stroke the car? Also I if I am going to run the V3 does that mean my alternator would be moved to a different position than stock? I was planning on the 3g black since I’m going that theme but when I checked out the hatch at lmr I couldn’t find the alternator anywhere but it’s obviously there but I’m guessing moved down. I’m just asking bc well I don’t know, plus I could save some cash from buying the blk alt and get the silver 3g instead for cheaper if I’m going to have to relocate it anyways.Thanks![]()

The alternator gets moved down below the air pump actually . You either keep the air pump or run a delete pulley . I have a delete pulley . You need it as far as keeping the belt tension and not rubbing the brackets . As far as pistons . You need a twisted wedge specific piston in A stroker kit . The reason is the valves are not at the standard degree angle of a typical sbf head . So the valves will crash into the pistons if this isn’t done . As far as the dome . That all depends on your combustion chamber size . Some heads have such a large chamber which brings the compression down to a point that you could use a flat top . The way my heads are sold with the 66cc combustion chamber and the size bore I needed - we opted to use a reverse dome and then customize the actual cc of the dish to get compression where it needed to be. This is all something I’d discuss with your engine builder when explaining your goals . I hope this helped a bit ! Any other questions feel free to pm me . Here’s a pic back when i had the standard brackets as it was going together . You can see where the alt and smog pulley sit .What is the difference in Pistons say dish, flat top etc? Man that’s nice! Thank you for explaining a little I appreciate that. I still have my smog pump but have been considering deleting and getting that delete pulley. Just ordered my alternator but for the moment I’ll just run it in the normal location, gonna install that and my mini starter. The alternator gets moved down below the air pump actually . Well you’d have to run it in stock location . It only moves when you use the Vortech bracket or a low mount aftermarket bracket .Man that’s nice! Thank you for explaining a little I appreciate that.
