So the coupe is at my buddies shop where we are going to start on the intercooler but - after 5 plus years of searching I got lucky and found my dads 66 belair which was his first car . Hes been gone over 20 years now so to me this is the closest I can get to having a part of him with me . It’s about 80 percent restored / turned into a biscayne . Which is just minor differences .
It now has a 396 , th400 , 12 bolt . To say it’s still surreal is an understatement. I’ve already ordered 80-90 percent of the needed body and Interior stuff to complete it before I start my own touches to it . The end goals are - 540 BBC NA pump gas , 4l80e , vintage air , Baer brakes , torque thrust d wheels (possibly ) . Drop the front a touch . Bigger sway bars and rear arms . Low 11- high 10 sec cruiser . Last picture is summer of 84 when he owned it . It was blue but it had the horrible 80s respray it was flat ish and of course we don’t have pic quality like we do now.

That is a cool car, I have always had a soft spot for mid-60's full size Chevys. The fact it is your dad's car is even better.
What engine did it have back in the day?

Thanks man , this happens to be my favorite with the one year taillights and post car. It was a 283 originally - my father put a 327 in ans then when he sold it to his buddy he blew it up .That is a cool car, I have always had a soft spot for mid-60's full size Chevys. Thanks man I definitely have some plansCongratulations brother-I know you will make the ole’ chevy something really special
I like the SST but I don’t and they are hard to find . Either silver rally’s and lower the car a touch , original torque thrust D wheels staggard lips or steel wheels staggered with poverty caps .My vote is to toss a set of cragar ss wheels back on it like your father had
Thanks man , maybe ill post some progress here and there but being it is a mustang forum I won’t clog my thread up too much . Was just excited and sharing why there’s been a lack on the mustang .Well that's a big deal!! Congrats

Mustang is actually setup at my buddies to start the intercooler stuff as well .
Been waiting a long time to do this. Fronts on the way . Rears will eventually get done as well . Still a full size rotor but 11 inches and 4 piston so I can still run a 15 inch front if I want to for track duty.

Jeff, do those require any machining to the spindle to make them fit?Been waiting a long time to do this. Fronts on the way . Rears will eventually get done as well . Still a full size rotor but 11 inches and 4 piston so I can still run a 15 inch front if I want to for track duty.
As far as the Belair has been going I have -
- Rebuilt steering column
- New wheel
- Pulled whole cluster and bezel out and re finished it
- Speedo working
- New Radio and Speakers front and rear
-Removed floor shifter
-Spark plug wires and air cleaner
- Carpet and rear deck in
- Headlights , plate light , cowl panel , Window felt/trim
-New fuel tank
-New driver / added pass mirror
- rear view mirror and bracket
- Rear trim on
-Front strut rod bushings
- New brake pedal / gas / e brake trim and rubber
- Rear plate bracket
- Led front headlights / wire sw for parking lights to stay on with headlights
-Cig lighter
- Rear tail shaft seal
- exhaust in progress . Clamps will be done and tail pipes welded to hangers .
- Ordering front disc stuff this week .
- Have my fuel log , lines and fittings for the holley 750.
I still have all the wiring in the bay to tuck / clean up . Paint the wheels silver as well .
I did drive it 62 miles to work with zero hiccups . Not bad for some trips around the house to get it straight after not driving for 30 years

Fox spindle they give you a sealed hub for it and modify for the mounting bracket . Sn95 is bolt onJeff, do those require any machining to the spindle to make them fit?
Let me know when you’re ready . I can save you a few bucksJealous. I have a front set on my list of stuff to get...one day
Just love the simplicity of a 60's ride,
Also picked up a 4L80 for it for the summer time
I got you man , I’ll be doing the red and black one when I do the rears a decade from now

Wait,so these mount to a stock Fox spindle?Fox spindle they give you a sealed hub for it and modify for the mounting bracket . Sn95 is bolt on
You can do them on a modified fox spindle that converts it to 5 lug or can keep it 4 lug yes .Wait,so these mount to a stock Fox spindle?
I have sn95 spindles .
So I decoded the bel air finally . Turns out it’s a 71 402 out of a Monte Carlo or caprice .
Lower intake is ported , cleaned up

Hooker super comps (3.5 collector)
I put the holley on and we had an issue with it. So I grabbed my buddies silver claw and man the car runs night and day. Sounds rowdy for what it is.
Exhaust is done . Came out decent considering we welded stainless with a mig. 3inch off the collector into 3 inch x pipe . 2.5 factory location tailpipes due to to space that’s how they make the kit .
Also was toying with wheels and tried my buddies street lites on it .
