BFH and massage the heck out of the inner fender wells. Helped a buddy do it and I was almost sick when it was done. He ended up using some stuff a body shop buddy gave him to seal up all the small tears in the wheel well metal. This was a drag car so he really didn’t care.
I would just mini tube a Fox Mustang wider than 275 was necessary. Called a guy that mini tubes Foxes and he said $1,100 labor plus the mini tubes and coil over bracket materials. He also said there would be additional labor to remove the interior of that had not been done and to remove anything under the car. He said it’s difficult to be specific there as some people bring him a street car and want turn key where others strip it all out and the car is on a body dolly so it goes right up on the lift and under the knife.

The sizes for good tires get a little more complicated in 18's. I have a 225/40/18 on the front. They are not correct, too narrow for an 8.5. They are about 25 tall, but i don't have much more room than that. Only 1 good tire is made in a 245/35/18, most extreme summer tires are 255/35/18 which would most likely be the correct size. But now i'd be adding quite a bit of width. The 245/35/18 will be a little short, the 255/35/18 may be a little wide and a 245/40/18 will most likely be a little tall.
The 255 is a good match for what i have now in height, but it's going to be roughly an inch wider.
I think in my case i can do all the math and calculating, but no choice is going to be a sure thing. I've found over the years tires are like sneakers, the same size of two different brands yields different fitments.
I can most likely get the bridgestone 71RS in the 255 at costco, but ouch at $315 per tire plus installation.
The good news is that they will take them back.
