So simple intake swap turned into a night mare, in short somone decided the stop was un needed on oil pump rod and I thought I got it back in but I did not and what could've been real bad turned out to be a 40 dollar mellling pump and a major loss of time . On to some pics

Could've been worse maybe it was a sign to do the oil pump before it locked up on me ...

So guys i blew the motor up. Crusing 30 mph crank walked and wrecked the bottom end i limped it to my house until it finally stalled. It walked so bad the fly wheel isnt even close to the starter. The crank has almost an inch of play by hand in it. Taking the heads , cam , rockers and intake and putting it all away. Gonna get another block and do a chp 331 with scat crank and 28oz balance when i have the money

For now gonna put stock motor in. Time it 14 deg again and put my gears in so ill have a fun car still

An inch is a lot of crank walk. You broke the crank I'd bet. Is it a stick? Did the clutch feel all weird?

So , heres an update. I bought a winter beater.97 Jeep GC 4.0L, Parked the car for the winter after putting the stock motor in the car runs good. As far as the motor. I will never buy a used motor again. I should've taken that money i had and bought a CHP rotating assembly.

The motor actually turned out to be a stock crank with eagle 5.400 in rods and ross racing .30 over pistons. This means it was a long rod 306. I still have the pistons , Cam , Heads , Rockers and Rods. The heads need a valve job. Probably will sell the cam as I want a mild cam like a TFS1. Plans for the winter are

-Interior Red to Grey with black carpet and 86 Seats.
-3:73 rear, welded axle tubes and possibly 31 spline axles.
- Control arms, Subframes , Battle boxes welded when i pull the rear out for the built one.
-Clutch, Fork, Pivot Ball, Bearing retainer. (Car eats TOB's)
-Smoke my tail lights - or smoked 86 tail lights.
-Go through the brakes- Drums , Shoes, Calipers, Pads, Rotors.
- Re wire and clean up stereo and possibly a double din. The car has a 3 amp with active crossover stereo in it. I like clear and loud music !

If money allows. Build a cheap re ringed 302 with my Edlebrock heads. TFS1 or just run a compression test and throw the top end on my motor.

None of this is set in stone these are just my goals , Money and time will be the deciding factors but this is my update!!

I will have to search !!

Another update I pulled a 30 hour day yesterday , worked all day and then built my rear - Welded axle tubes gutted the whole housing , pressure washed , cleaned everything , new bearings , put 355s in it .

I am not crazy about my wear pattern , but then again I was up 28 hours at the point of me finally saying enough .

so I am sure a fresh mind and some re shimming and ill be happy but it's basically done .

All I need as far as the rear is to paint , order my TA cover Then ill order battle boxes and control arms and get to work on that and put the reAr in my buddy pressure washing all clean and together ring on and bearings pressed in
