I need to ask, do you seal the rear spoiler it the hatch?
Every one I have ever removed including mine, twice, the space between the hatch and the wing was filled.with dirt, perfect for metal erosion..
Maybe a little paranoid, I hate rust!!

If you seal the leading edge of the wing, that hole area fills up with water and has famously been dubbed, "The Bird Bath". This is a huge, 'No No".

So, you have to have a way for that water to drain beneath the wing area as well as a way for it to get out.

Water is meant to run under the spoiler so I just seal up all the bolt holes with ribbon sealer like used on quarter windows. Not that these I do will ever sit outside with leaves falling on it and getting under there anyway
